Abstract

Carbon nanoparticles were synthesized via hydrothermal oxidation of glucose. The carbon dots were characterized by X-ray diffraction( XRD),transmission electron microscopy( TEM), ultraviolet-visible spectrophotometry, fluorescene spectrophotometry and Fourier transform infrared spectrophoto-metry( FTIR).The results indicate that the carbon dots have appropriate spherical morphology, uniform size, good dispersion,non-agglomeration.The carbon dots can emit bright green photoluminescence under UV excitation, and exhibit excitation-dependent PL behavior.
