Abstract
Tritium fuel self-sufficiency utilizing tritium production reactions by D-T neutrons in a fusion reactor blanket is essential to realize a commercial fusion reactor. To confirm the validity for the reactor engineering design, JAERI/USDOE Collaborative Program on Fusion Blanket Neutronics started in 1984 and continued up to 1993. Integral neutronics experiments using simulated fusion blankets were performed at FNS in JAERI. The achievements of the activities such as integral experiment, measurement techniques development, calculational analysis and estimation of design safety factors through the collaboration are reviewed.
