Abstract

Preparation methods of the stress-strain curve with rate dependency for steels have been studied using two estimation formulas. One of the formulas can estimate yield point and tensile strength as a function of strain rate, and another formula can estimate stress – strain curve from the two values, yield point and tensile strength. Two kinds of methods are proposed. Simulation of high-speed tensile tests using the finite element method have been carried out to validate the two kindss of methods. It is found the method considering rate dependency of both yield point and tensile strength shows better repeatability of experiments than the method considering rate dependency of only yield points.
