Abstract

A 63-year-old man was admitted with left eyelid ptosis, diplopia, bilateral reduced visual acuity and ophthalmoplegia. These clinical symptoms were compatible with a diagnosis of orbital apex syndrome.CT was very helpful in the diagnosis. The cause was thought to be due to a mucocele in the sphenoidal sinus. Intra-nasal operation was performed under local anesthesia. These symptoms mentioned above disappeared rapidly after surgery.
