Abstract

I am interested in mild hyperthermia using laser, and developed a new procedure for mild hyperthermia with combination of rotary hand-piece and echo jerry, which is no side effects. I introduce two cases of spontaneous deep masses treated by this procedure. Case 1 is a feline abdominal mass. The mass was treated using laser with rotary hand-piece with 5 W, 30 min at the interval of a week. The cat improved appetite at the third week and decrease of the mass volume was confirmed by x-ray examination on two months after initial treatment. After that, the treatment was continued at the interval of every two weeks for 15 months until the cat died at the 19 years and 3 months. Case 2 is a canine thoracic mass. At the initial treatment, the dog hesitated walking for dyspnea. The mass was treated using laser with rotary hand-piece with 10 W, 30 min at the interval of a week. On the 2 months after initial treatment, the dog recovered until she could walk out door. Improvement of tracheal stenosis was found in X-Ray examination on 5 months. After that, the treatment was continued at the interval of 2 weeks for 19 months and general condition was stable. The mild hyperthermia using the semiconductor laser device for dog and cat has a potency to inhibited progress of the growth of tumor, improved clinical manifestations, and to preserve quality of life.
