Abstract

The purpose of this study is to clarify the stress distribution of the cross-section at the simple superposed strength of concrete filled square steel tubular section. The moment-axial force relationships correspond to the simple superposed strength are calculated based on the Navier’s hypothesis. Analytical parameters are strength of concrete and steel tube and the width-to-thickness ratio. The stress or strain at the outermost edges of concrete and steel tube cross section with the stress or strain at allowable stress of the respective materials are compared and the relationship between the stress or strain of the cross-section at the simple superposed strength and the analytical variables are discussed.
