Abstract

A 17-year-old male presented with progressive cranial nerve palsy. CT and MRI revealed a large tumor in the right cranial fossa with bone destruction. Radiation therapy was performed but only a temporary partial remission was obtained. After a 3-month hospitalization he died of respiratory failure due to lung metastasis. Autopsy revealed metastase in the lung, pleura, and adrenal gland. The pathological diagnosis was rhabdomyosarcoma. The difficulty of pathological diagnosis and the importance of early diagnosis and treatment are emphasized.
