Abstract

This study comprised a basic investigation on the derivation of formulas for calculating the weak-axis bending rigidity, first natural frequency, and driving-point impedance of anisotropic slabs. The resulting conclusions were as follows. 1) The formula for the weakaxis bending rigidity can be expressed in terms of mean rigidity based on the angle of rotation induced at different positions in the slab cross-section. 2) For the first natural frequency and the driving-point impedance, the formula can be expressed as a coordinate transformation of the equation for the free vibration of an anisotropic slab to the equation for that of an isotropic slab.
