Abstract

On thc rice plant affected with Aphelenchoides bessevi, are often observed abnormal tillers which shoot out from higher nodes of mother culms, mostly from the 2nd to 4th nodes, being counted from up to down. The abnormal tillers occurred more frequently in the case of rice plant that absorped excess amount of nitrogenous fertilizer, during the development of ears of the mother culms. It was noticed that the abnormal tillers produced unripe ears and the mother culm was restricted its growth, causing reduction of the weight of ear, due to branching tillers.
