Abstract

Hhe author mentioned about the necessity of investigation of electrical characteristics of electric arc furnace as one of the most important factors concerning electric furnace, which containes many engineering problems, say, thermal, metallurgical, mechanical and electrical department. To consider this electrical characteristics author illustrated several simple practice and approximate formulae with a practical example comparing with both results from the preliminary calculation and the actual short circuit test of a complete furnace.
