Abstract
Ozone delignification is recognized as one of the alternative techniques that has the potential to replace methods using chlorine based chemicals in the bleaching of chemical pulps. Ahlstrom Kamyr has been working on development of ozone bleaching processes and equipment and confirmed that the ozone is an attractive bleaching chemical.This report will introduce Ahlstrom's equipment for a ozone bleaching system including a newly developed gas mixer, a short bleaching sequence for producing TCF pulp using ozone but without chelating stage and the effect of filtrate recirculation in the process.
