Abstract
Presently, there is a task to secure power supplies for charging batteries of cellular phones in times of natural disaster so that the cellular phones could be used as a mean of emergency communication at evacuation centers. We fabricated an impeller-type hydroelectric generator which can be transported and installed easily at evacuation centers in times of disaster and generate power with small quantity of water conveniently without being affected by weather. Load characteristic tests were carried out on the impeller-type hydroelectric generator we fabricated, and we confirmed that the generator could generate power of rated voltage of 5.0 V necessary for charging cellular phones.
