Abstract

Blood from patients was stored. The changes of phagocytism and resistence, interception of blood plasma against bacterium and bactericidal power of total blood during storage were studied.1) Disturbance of liver function. In blood from patients with abnormal serum T-Ch (Totalcholesterin) and serum total protein quantity, accerelation of red corpuscle sedimentation and positive results of Thorn's adrenalin test etc., leukocytes showed low phagocytism and re istence directly after with-drawal. Their decrease was markedly influenced by storage.2) In the case of slightly ascended Congored index the deduction of the phagocytism and resistence by storage were less than that of the normal ones. In the markedly ascended case they were intensive.3) The interception against bacterium in blood plasma was slightly lower in blood from patient with positive liver function test, ascended Congored index and positive Thorn's test. Change of interception against bacterium in blood plasma was scarcely confirmed both in normal blood and pathological one.4) The total bactericidal power showed decrease continuously after withdrawal but its degree was less influenced by storage in pathological blood than in normal one.
