Abstract
This study is a 13 to 75 months (mean, 45 months) follow-up of patients with two or three stages of Kienbock's disease treated by radial shortening procedure. In five of six patients, the roentogenograms at the follow-up examination showed the remodeling in the lunate bone. Compared with the pre-operative status, the mean range of the wrist motion improved by 32.5 degrees and the mean grip strength increased by about 1.41 times. Four of six patients were satisfied with their treatment and showed functional improvement. The other two patients complained of some wrist pain with strenuous activity. All patients returned to normal activity.
