Abstract

Based on the records of line fishing for tunny in 1939 obtained from four Fisheries Survey Ships as well as from two fishing-boats, the catch of tunny, Thunnus orientalis T. & S., in the seas south of Kyûsyû was investigated in relation to the oceanographical conditions. Good hauls always occurred near the line of convergence between the warm Kurosio water and the colder waters. The catch seems to have bearings on the transgression of, the Kuro-sio-water.
