Abstract

The author described morphologically in the main the seven juveniles of Pointed-tailed Ocean Sunfish, Masturus lanceolatus, 22.5-77.5mm in body length without caudal fin, found in the stomach of Seerfish, Acanthocybium solandri, caught. off the Minamidaito Is1. June 28, 1949. This juvenile is supposed to be bottom animal feeder, as an individual of 37mm long had the Stomach full of some Annelida, and 70mm long one, full of some Sponge. The juvenile of this species was already reported by Gudger, E. W. and others, but this is the first report concerning the waters arround Japan.
