Abstract

The cured styrene butadiene rubber (C-SBR) latex prepared by a crosslinking of SBR with peroxide and other latices (SBR and natural rubber (NR)) were blended to develop a high performance and multi-functional elastomer. The resulting rubber has high tensile strength and hysteresis loss. This rubber has two peaks of tanδ at -50 and +40°C. When the volume fraction of C-SBR in the blended rubbers increased, the tensile strength increased, and the intensity of the two peaks of tanδ also increased. It is suggested that the particle of C-SBR in the vulcanized blended rubbers dispersed in a micro state.
