Abstract

We treated 8 cases of ipsilateral fractures of the femur and tibia. They were classified into type I (7 cases), type II b (1 case) according to Fraser's classification and graded with Karlström criteria for assessment. Bone union was achieved in all cases. There were good results in 2 cases, acceptable in 2 and poor in 4. Identfying the patient's condition and rigid fixation of fractures seemed the most important aspects for ophmal treatment.
