Abstract
In this study, we focus on the ground freezing method that is one of the soil improvement method, and perform the temperature control analysis on frozen duct boundary in frozen soil formation using the finite element and the adjoint variable methods. The adjoint variable method is applied to obtain the appropriate frozen duct temperature such that the temperature at the target point near the frozen duct is close to the target temperature.
