Abstract
I studied on the survival time of leucocytes in whole blood preserved in acid citrate dextrose (ACD) solution at 4°C and found that mononuclear leucocytes were rapidly killed. These conclusions were based on the loss of mitosis in tissue cultures at 37°C during the 10 days of storage, and a decrease in survival rate in neutral red vital staining during the 14 days of storage.
