Abstract
Volatile essential oils extracted from plants could produce good biological effects on the repelling and killing of insects,which seemed to be equivalent to or even better than chemical repellants.In addition,volatile essential oils had better advantages of safety,which was termed as a natural repellent.This paper summarized the antibacterial and repelling effects of essential oils on the human and plant bodies.Its application indicated that essential oils,as a natural repellent,had a broad prospect for development and application.
