Abstract
Many kinds of wound dressing biomaterials have been used for donor site, burn skin or graft site. A "chitin" wound dressing extracted from red "zuwai" crab has numerous advantages over freeze-dried dura, pig skin or fibrin membrane. This paper reported that the chitin membrane applied to mucosal defect after epulis dessections, and also to absorbable membrane for GTR method. As a result, good clinical courses were observed in the patients and this membrane was recognized as a usuful wound dressing biomaterial.
