Abstract

The education and training of the third grade pilot started on October, 2008 in Japan, and the third grade pilots were born in 2011. From 2011 to 2012, the pilots had a training period at each pilot district for getting their on-board experience for entering and leaving port as pilots. In the middle of 2012, some of the pilots have started to command ships for entering and leaving port by themselves, but the others, who did not get good results of the evaluation at each pilot association, are continuing the same training. There is not an absolutely evaluation for the risk of ship handling in case of entering port. Today, trainer pilot evaluates the maneuvering of trainees during their ship handling simulator training. They are not absolute evaluations but objective evaluations. In this paper, the authors propose the absolute evaluation method which is much better than the ordinary evaluation by the well experienced pilot for the trainer.
