Abstract

Sound absorbing characteristics of interior materials are important parameter of the acoustic and noise control design of concert hall, conference room and so on. This paper presents the experimental studies on influence of the sound absorbing materials accepted by back air-space. As a result, material density and back air space influence sound absorbing characteristics of porous materials. And the observed sound absorbing characteristics of perforated materials is nearly in agreement with the statistical sound absorption coefficient calculated by Bolt's theory.
