Abstract
The production of palm oil in Malaysia is rapidly increasing and attained to 430 million tons in 1985. Our institute are co-operating with Palm Oil Research Institute, Malaysia (PORIM) to utilize oil-palm residue, especially fronds, for the material of pulp and paper. The authers visited PORIM to conduct the research on pulping of oil-palm residue in August, 1988. This review is concerning information of pulp and paper industries in Malaysia, and of pulping method which have been obtained through our joint research for three years.
