Abstract

When steel or RC connections are designed, these connections had to have a sufficient strength and stiffness so far. However, many response control structures are developed recently. It is mean that specific member and the control device absorb the seismic energy and main members are not damaged much. For the steel structures, semi-rigid connections as easy connections are studied by many researchers. This is expected that seismic energy is absorbed by the earlier yield of angle members and possibility that seismic response of steel frame are reduced. However many reports are only presented concerned with member test and plane frame analysis so far and these semi-rigid connections are not apply actual design yet. This paper present that ductile-type connection has a large plastic deformation capacity. Ordinary steel and low yield steel are used by angle connection.
