Abstract
The factors of collisions between two or more vessels at night are pointed out various elements, but exhibition, keeping of a proper look-out and judgment of the navigational lights are most elementary factor to avoid collision at night. Author investigated above factors about actual facts in which found cases of collision at night for 10 years (1970-1979). These are the findings ; 1. collsion accidents at night account 34.8 percent of the fault about exhibition, keeping of a proper look-out and judgment of navigational light. 2. missjudgment of navigational light account 14.6 percent of collisions at night. 3. contravention of Steering and Salling Rules involved high rate of fault concerning navigational light, about 70 percent.
