Abstract

An attempt to see the microscopic structure of flow in a packed bed, surface flow patterns were visualized by benzonic acid which was coated on a sphere. The skin friction line and singular points related to the flow separation were clearly observed by the present method. The results also compared well with those of other workers who used a different method of visualization.
