Abstract

Neurilemmoma at the base of tongue is relatively rare.A 28-year-old female with a tumor at the base of her tongue visited our clinic in February, 1992.Under general anesthesia by oral intubation, the tumor was completely removed extracapsularly through the oral approach. The histopathological diagnosis was Antoni type A neurilemmoma.She has no lingual paralysis or taste loss after the operation, so the origin of the neurilemmoma could not be identified.
