Abstract
本論文では，狭帯域回線上でビデオ画像通信による病害虫の診断を実施するための機能を提案する．本研究で提案する機能の特徴は，H.261のデータ階層構造を利用して，利用者が注目している画像領域の選択を可能することである．提案する機能により，アナログ電話回線程度の狭帯回線上でも1秒間に8フレーム程度の動きのある高品質の画像を送信することが可能となる．提案する機能をビデオツールに実装し，遠隔診断に適用した実験を行った．実験結果より，提案した機能が有効に働き，狭帯域回線で高品質の画像による遠隔診断が可能であることを確認した．
