Abstract
症例の概要：患者は51歳の女性．広範なう蝕と，う蝕や金属冠による審美障害を主訴に来院した．保存不可能な歯を抜歯後，大臼歯部での咬合支持は消失した．可撤性義歯での再建を拒む患者に対し，短縮歯列でのプロビジョナルレストレーションによる経過観察中，顎関節・歯周組織・咬合に問題を生じることなく経過したため，最終補綴に移行した． 考察：適切な診査・診断と，3～4カ月に1度の厳格なメインテナンスにより，現在まで，7年間問題なく経過したと考えている． 結論： 短縮歯列は，すべての患者に適応できるわけではないが，入念な診断とメインテナンスのもと行えば，有効な治療の選択肢の1つとなることが示唆された．
