Abstract

We present two cases of simple cysts in the parotid region. One was a branchiogenic cyst located in the lower part of the superficial lobe of the parotid gland, and the other was a epidermoid cyst located in the extracapsular region. It is difficult to differentiate a cyst from a cystic lesion associated with cystic degeneration of a parotid tumor preoperatively, and the treatment of choice should be parotidectomy with identification and preservation of the facial nerve.
