Abstract

A method of estimation for the residual magnetizations in a magnetic substance is presented. This method is based on inverse analysis using the threedimensional boundary element method. That is. the distribution of the residual magnetizations is calculated by the measured flux density near the surface as input-data. In this paper, the singularity of the system equations for a simple problem is examined. This method is applied to a model of the permanent magnet, and then it is indicated that our method is available for the estimation of the residual magnetization.
