Abstract

Determination and coordination by residents are essential on the process to establish a settlement land use planning, which aims conservation of agriculturalland. The author developed a land use classification method, which gives support to residents to distinguish agricultural land to be conserved, based on the results of a case study promoted in hilly and mountainous area. At the first, field study focused on productivity, management condition and geographic condition is conducted in the method. Secondly, quantification analysis II that regard the factors as items is applied to derive criteria to distinguish the land. Thirdly, models of land use classification are built, taking residents' determinations into account. The coordination in settlement is provided through evaluating the models.
