Abstract

Nowadays, many shipyards have applied resin chock instead of steel one when installing main machinery as a countermeasure of employees of advanced age and decrease of man power. But any trouble with respect to the resin chock when installing main machinery such as diesel engines and diesel generators affects the performance of the machinery. We, therefore, prepared a design guidance of installation of diesel engines, diesel generators and auxiliary machinery with resin chock, based on the questionnaire to the shipyards who participate in the machinery engineering system committee No.3 of the Marine Engineering Society.
