Abstract

The discovery of Konomai mine was in. 1815 and after subsequent development many vein deposits were discovered. Among many veins the fth vein of Kuchannai zone is the largest of all and it is, so called, the champion vein of Konomai gold mine. The Fifth vein is geologically divided distinctly into two parts with east part being called “Foot wall vein” and west part being called “Hanging wall vein”.The occurrence of ore deposits differs in nature that we are forced to adopt different types of stoping methods to meet different wall rock conditions. Some of the stoping methods practiced are shrinkage stoping and square-set caving method.
