Abstract

We report a rare case of intrasucrum dermoid cyst in a 52-year-old woman diagnosed by squash cytology. Intraoperative squash cytology showed admixtures of many anucleated and nucleated squamous cells, foamy cells, multinucleated giant cells, calcifying bodies, and a few sweat gland cells. Although diagnosis for the presence of only necrotic materials failed for a frozen section, a dermoid cyst was diagnosed by squash cytology based on typical findings. Squash cytology, is these useful in identifying such tumors.
