Abstract
We report on six cases of foot disorders which were treated with a shoe insert made of silicon.The features of this silicon shoe insert were as follows.1) It was easy to fit this to the patients foot and reduce foot pressure.2) It was almost transparent, allowing the underlying skin condition to be easily checked.3) Many kinds of shoes could be used, as it was easily inserted into different shoes.4) Compared with usual shoe inserts, the silicon insert was heavy, and was difficult to modify later.We obtained good results in 4 out of 6 cases using the silicon shoe insert. Improvement was seen in local findings, foot pressure and ambulation activities.
