Abstract

Several papers have been published on the stress analysis of swept-back wing structures. For instance, Hemp introduced fundamental equation by the continuity of displacement, but this method is very complicated. In his paper, stress of flange is not investigated sufficiently, which has important meaning in stress analysis.In this paper, energy method is used which makes calculus very easy. It is very troublesome to obtain arbitrary constant involved in solution, but author's method makes work much simpler. In addition, degree of accuracy of solution is investigated. Calculations are made in several loads cases.In experiment, new clamped method is proposed, i.e. resin model is adhered with mild steel block. Theoretical values are in good agreement with those of experiment.
