Abstract

Dioxygen complexes of palladium and rhodium having olefinic ligand are prepared by the anion exchange reaction of the corresponding metal complexes using superoxide ion as a dioxygen source. Transfer of the dioxygen ligand to the coordinated olefin is observed in pyrolysis of a rhodium complex having COD ligand. Preparation and characterization of a rhodium hydroperoxo complex is also described.
