Abstract
みどりの香り（GLV）は炭素数6のアルデヒド，アルコール，アセテート類の総称である．GLVは陸上植物にほぼ普遍的に見いだされ，様々な食品の重要なフレーバー成分となっている．また，GLVがヒトに抗ストレス効果を誘導することが報告され，注目されている．最近の研究で，植物は自らの生息する生態系をモニターし，制御するためにGLVを利用していることが明らかになってきた．C6アルデヒドはその高い反応性により外敵に対する直接防衛に寄与している．また，三者系では害虫の天敵を呼びつけて害虫駆除に利用している．また，植物自身もGLVを感知する能力を得，周りの状況を把握することで生態系の変化に敏感に対応しているらしい．
