Abstract
In this report, it is explained that generating magnetic force in the main contacting and intersecting zone of magnetic gear using permanent magnet is approximately obtained by the two-dimensional model. Through experiment and analysis, magnetic gear having the ratio of magnet interval of c/a=0.3 is treated taking into consideration the normal pitch tn and size of magnetic material SmCo5 (where a: magnet width, c: distance between magnets). As a result, in the case of relative rotational angle θ=0°, there is good agreement with experiment and calculation values. But in the case of θ≠0° it is necessary to consider the effects of three-dimensional magnetic components. And from the experiment, it is clarified that it is desirable to adopt the ratio of c/a=0.5 to reach the maximum transmitted force in the design of magnetic gear using permanent magnet.
