Abstract

A case of peripheral osteoma occurring in d 38-year-old man was presented. The patient was referred to our clinic by his dentist because of the swelling in the right side of the mandible. The firm, hard mass measuring 20×25mm was noted on the right side of mandible. Radiographic examination revealed a thumb-sized, uneven, dense and radiopaque mass which protruded from the lateral surface of mandible. The mass was removed surgically, and the histopathological diagnosis was osteoma durum. No evidence of recurrence was observed to date.
