Abstract

In fabrication of a cylindrical shielding case with magnetic ribbon, the ribbon has to be wound helically on the outer surface of a cylindrical substance. In this paper, we studied the relationship between shielding characteristics for transverse and axial disturbing field and the winding pitch of the magnetic ribbon. Shielding factor is high when the angle between the direction of disturbing field and the longitudinal direction of the magnetic ribbon is small. For example, shielding factor S⊥ for transverse field was 220 at winding pitch θ=10°, S⊥=200 at θ=30°, S⊥=160 at θ=45°. Shaking field leaking into the shielded space was reduced by making the winding pitch small.
