Abstract

The aim of this study is to investigate the opinions of prospective music teachers in School Experience course which is taken at the last year of the teacher education program. For this purpose, 30 prospective teachers taking School Experience wrote and submitted one or two-page reflection of their school-based experiences at the end of the semester. Their written responses were examined and analyzed qualitatively. Findings indicate that prospective teachers are well aware of the importance of the school experience, have a chance to transform their theoretical knowledge to empirics by observing the functioning of the school , current structure and practice teacher but the findings also show that faculty-school cooperation does not exist. Proposals are put forward and discussed in the light of the results. Key words: School experience, prospective music teachers
