Abstract
This study, grounded in previous research, explores the impact of person-environment fit on the work engagement and turnover intentions of Generation MZ workers in the food service industry. It seeks to understand how this fit influences the development of an organization's environment. The study identifies factors of personal-environment compatibility and examines the psychological and emotional states related to job enthusiasm and turnover intention, which are critical to organizational performance. This analysis aims to provide valuable insights for internal customer management and effective operations in restaurant service companies. The results supported Hypotheses 1 and 2, while Hypothesis 3 was partially supported. The findings suggest that food service organizations should comprehend the unique characteristics of Generation MZ workers and offer job training and engagement development programs tailored to them, enhancing their professional competencies. Additionally, fostering open communication channels and encouraging the free exchange of opinions and ideas between food service organizations, supervisors, and Generation MZ employees could potentially reduce their turnover intentions.
