Abstract

This study clarifies and rediscovers Shakespeare's artistic use of Renaissance myths, symbols, and emblematic topoi in Shakespeare's Cymbeline. The classical and Christian iconography of Cymbeline is explored, along with other Shakespearen works and those of his contemporaries. This book won the University of Delaware Press Award for best manuscript in Shakespeare Studies.
