Abstract

A 58-year-old woman with primary biliary cirrhosis (PBC) was admitted to the hospital because of muscle weakness, increasing fatigability, loss of weight, abnormal serum liver and alkaline phosphatase enzyme levels. She was referred to the nuclear medicine department for a bone scan to investigate possible metabolic bone disease.
