Abstract

Objective To investigate the methods and clinical effects of myomectomy performed during cesarean section on pregnancy with uterine fibroids.Methods The intraoperative and postoperative clinical data of 63 patients underwent myomectomy during cesarean section from July 2005 to June 2008 were retrospectively analyzed. Results All of 63 patients in the treatment group were cured. The operative time, blood loss in treatment group were longer compared with the control group, the differences were statistically significant (P 0.05). Uterine involution was good, menstrual volume and menstrual cycle was normal 42 d post-partum. No recurrence of fibroids was found by B ultrasound after the birth 42 d, half a year, one year follow-up. Conclusions Selective cesarean section combined myomectomy is necessary, safe and feasible. Difficulty of operation, volume of bleeding and postoperative complications don't obviously increase. It is worthy to be popularized with the benefit of rapidly postoperative recovery, reducing incidence of second surgery and hysterectomy.
