Abstract

Two cases of myoglobinuria were associated with herpes-group viral infection (herpes simplex and Epstein-Barr). Muscle atrophy and acute renal failure were important complications. No evidence of direct invasion of muscle fibers by virus was found, nor was the severity of myoglobinuria correlated with histologic appearance of muscle. (<i>Arch Intern Med</i>138:422-424, 1978)
